Do you have any recommendations on how best to securely mount the pocketPC in the car? I'll be using it for road racing and wouldn't want a potential missile inside the car...

As mitchman points out, there are quite a few options for bolt-in or clip-in mounts. Another supplier is Arkon.

We've used Velcro in quite a few road racing applications. The black "Industrial Strength" kind works well, although if you are applying it to a vinyl dashboard you might want to consider the "AUTO" kind. The thing you have to be careful of is, when pulling the Pocket PC off, you can open the battery door if you aren't careful. The "Extreme" kind (meaning the stuff where neither side is fuzzy) is arguably too strong.

Another option is to use a case, such as our watertight hard case. We Velcro that in place, then use a loose cable tie loop to secure it to a nearby roll bar as cheap insurance.

If your race car still has a usable glove box or other locking storage bin, you can throw the Pocket PC in there. But you need to make sure it doesn't rattle around too much, and you don't want the screen or buttons getting tapped.

Im planning on buying the MQGPS-Bluetooth but want to get all of the other bits and pieces together in advance so that when I do get it I know it will work and be stable while autocrossing or on the track...

Are the two units mounted to the dash or just velcroed??

I am planning on placing my Ipaq PPC and the MQGPS on the dash of a NA Miata, just above the center vents...

A nice mounting system would be a good addition to your prduct line...

Thank you for your time...

Joe
